Our Port Douglas holiday accommodation at the Port Douglas Apartments offers some wonderful opportunities to explore Port Douglas food culture first hand. Located in Macrossan Street, where most of the great Port Douglas restaurants are clustered, you just have to step outside our building to find the street a smorgasbord of culinary delights.
Most of them will have some offering from the sea, but you’ll be surprised by the sheer range of style of eateries in Port Douglas. When you wake up and reach for a coffee try Betty’s Bohemian Beach Cafe Restaurant or the Little Larder for a more substantial cooked breakfast.
Our other favourite cafe is the Whileaway Bookshop and Cafe. If you’re in holiday reading mode then this is the place to spend your mornings with a good coffee and a selection of the latest titles to peruse. Take your time to make your selection of what will be joining you beside the pool.
Of course there’s the usual lineup of tours to the Great Barrier Reef. We can also lend a few pointers if you’re headed toward the Daintree Rainforest National Park, especially with what to do in Cape Tribulation and the Mossman Gorge. We know many visitors to Port Douglas are very independent and well-read regarding their itinerary for their Port Douglas holiday, but if you can wait and book your charters with us we can usually fine-tune and adjust your trips according to the weather and coastal conditions, especially during November and May, the monsoon season brings the occasional storm and high seas.
